🚆 Konkan Railway Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026-27

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has released a Special Drive for 134 Apprentice Trainee slots under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973. The recruitment is for Engineering Graduates, Diploma Holders and General Stream Graduates.

🎓 Educational Qualification

1. Graduate Apprentice – Engineering

Candidates must possess BE/B.Tech in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

Eligible areas include:

• Civil Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Electronics Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

The notification also accepts specified allied/sub-stream qualifications for Electrical and Electronics disciplines.

2. Technician Apprentice – Diploma

Candidates must have a relevant Diploma in Engineering from a recognized university/institution or technical education board.

Eligible disciplines include:

• Civil

• Electrical

• Electronics

• Mechanical

Specified allied disciplines are also accepted as mentioned in the official notification.

3. General Stream Graduate Apprentice

Candidates with a bachelor's degree in the following streams can participate:

• BA

• B.Sc.

• B.Com.

• BBA

• Bachelor of Management Science

• Journalism & Mass Communication

• Bachelor of Business Studies

📅 Who Can Apply?

Candidates who passed their qualifying examination in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025 are eligible, subject to the other conditions of the notification.

A valid approved NATS ID is mandatory at the time of document verification.

🎂 Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years

• Maximum Age: 25 Years

• Age calculated as on: 01 January 2026

• Eligible DOB: 01 January 2001 to 01 January 2008

Age Relaxation

• 🔹 SC/ST: 5 Years

• 🔹 OBC-NCL: 3 Years

💰 Stipend

The total monthly stipend works through the Government/establishment share under DBT:

• 🎓 Graduate Apprentice: ₹12,300/month

• 🔧 Diploma Apprentice: ₹10,900/month

The notification specifies ₹6,150 + ₹6,150 for Graduate Apprentices and ₹5,450 + ₹5,450 for Diploma Apprentices.

Candidates must arrange their own lodging and boarding during training.

📝 Selection Process

There is no written examination.

Selection is based on the aggregate percentage obtained across all years/semesters of the qualifying examination.

No rounding-off of marks will be done. In case of equal marks, the older candidate gets preference; if DOB is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier gets preference.

⭐ Special Preference

Land-loser candidates whose land was acquired for the Konkan Railway Project receive first preference.

Second preference is given to candidates belonging to KRCL jurisdiction districts:

• Maharashtra: Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg

• Goa: North Goa, South Goa

• Karnataka: Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada
