SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Apply Online for 9,124 Junior Associate Posts

State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) recruitment in the clerical cadre. A total of 9,124 vacancies are available, comprising 7,680 regular vacancies and 1,444 backlog vacancies. The online application process started on 11 August 2026 and will remain open until 31 August 2026.

🎓 Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

• 🎓 Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

• Final-year/semester graduation candidates can also apply provisionally, provided they obtain proof of passing their graduation examination by 31 December 2026.

• Matriculate Ex-Servicemen meeting SBI's prescribed service and qualification conditions are also eligible.

🎂 Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 1 April 2026.

• Minimum Age: 20 years

• Maximum Age: 28 years

• Candidate must have been born between 2 April 1998 and 1 April 2006, inclusive.

📝 Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

Phase I → Preliminary Examination

Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be counted for the final merit list. Final merit is prepared based on Main Examination marks, subject to qualifying the required local-language test where applicable.

❗ Negative Marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Main Exam Pattern

There is a 1/4th negative marking for wrong answers.

🗣️ Local Language Requirement

Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT and must be proficient in the specified local language of that State/UT.

Candidates who have studied the specified local language in Class 10 or 12 and can produce the relevant certificate/marksheet will generally not have to take the separate language test. Others who are provisionally selected must qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test before joining.

💼 Salary

The SBI Junior Associate pay scale is:

₹24,050 – 1,340/3 – 28,070 – 1,650/3 – 33,020 – 2,000/4 – 41,020 – 2,340/7 – 57,400 – 4,400/1 – 61,800 – 2,680/1 – ₹64,480

For graduates, the starting Basic Pay is ₹26,730 after two advance increments.

The total starting emoluments at a metro such as Mumbai are approximately ₹46,000 per month, including applicable DA and other allowances. Actual emoluments vary according to the place of posting.
